“ONE DAY OFF” / {Societal Movement}
A global campaign that encourages and enables us all to simply turn everything off – our power, our gas, our vehicles, our technology – one day a week. Centered at a simple website that tracks everyone’s contribution, provides tips and builds community, One Day Off is a meaningful solution that costs nothing, cuts emissions measurably and just plain works. If just one billion of our planet’s eight billion (15% of us) pledged to take One Day Off per week, it would literally reduce our world’s carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 3% annually. No small amount, when you consider that the Paris Agreement calls for a 23% reduction by 2030. If half our world’s population took One Day Off per week, it would get us to over half of the required reduction in C02 emissions by the year 2030. All by literally dedicating one day a week to merely pretend we’re camping.
