“NO BEAST MR. BEAST” / {YouTube Campaign}
We can launch a respectful campaign to influence “Mr. Beast” – the most famous YouTube creator of all time – to consider veganism, and a fully vegan menu for his virtual chain “Beast Burger.” Jimmy Donaldson (his real name) is a naturally gifted ideation machine with wildly innovative videos that tap into remarkably watchable challenges, reactions and monetary prizes. As of March 2023, Mr. Beast has 140 MILLION subscribers on his main YouTube channel alone (of which he has several, including Beast Philanthropy). Simply put, he is incredibly influential. And because he is already notably humanitarian and eco-minded – regularly and randomly giving away large sums of money, feeding the hungry, adopting dogs and even working over multiple years to plant 20 million trees – we believe it’s quite realistic to open him up to the humanitarian and planetary benefits of veganism too. He says he wants to continue marshalling his followers to help the environment. And though there is at least one YouTuber (“That Vegan Teacher”) who has harshly criticized him, this would be nothing like that (in fact, it may even work to heal that – and show more “activists” that shaming never works). We might start by partnering with cool and kind vegans (such as Rich Roll, Earthling Ed, Portman, etc) to invite him for discussions. Once he comes around, he will simply do what he does best, utilizing his powerful voice to radically influence (see rough example below), and thereby help to further normalize going vegan. This is also a great opportunity for other companies to join alongside Impossible Foods to make Beast Burger 100% plant-based (as they’ll obviously need a non-dairy cheese brand, a non-dairy “chicken” offering, vegan buns, mayo, etc).
