MORE CITIES BAN MEAT & DAIRY ADS IN PUBLIC SPACES / {Social Pressure}
We can build on recent clear indicators that the world is catching on to the fact that big meat and dairy industries are truly no different than industries such as big tobacco. Proof? Multiple municipalities in Holland recently (October, 2023) voted to ban meat and dairy advertising in public places – and this idea encourages activist entities to pressure for similar bans in cities worldwide. Yes, this really just happened. Read about it here. Holland is absolutely leading the way, and this is big news. It’s the start of a mindset shift – whereby the horrific and shameful lack of awareness around meat, fish, dairy and egg industries are coming to the light. It's the start of the inevitable. It is our hope that within our lifetime at Ideas for Animals, countries worldwide will begin to pass legislation that treats dairy, meat, fish, egg, fur and pharma industries for the unspeakably horrific profit-mongers they are. Only different from the practices that big tobacco were held accountable for in one way: These industries are lightyears worse. Yes, that’s extremely judgmental. But it's also the simple truth. More and more change like this can happen. What recently went down in The Netherlands is proof. The time is now to use the good power of activism across the globe to push for more positive actions such as these. And build momentum from there, setting more and more precedent that it’s time to build toward legislative action establishing a plant-based world – for the good of planet, human, and trillions of innocent sentient beings killed and forced to endure shockingly inhumane lives of horrific suffering out of sight and out of mind. But no more.
